Pendidikan Islam Inklusif dan Transformasi Sosial: Analisis Peran Lembaga Keagamaan dalam Mengatasi Kesenjangan Sosial di Pamekasan

This study aims to analyze the role of religious institutions in addressing social inequality through an inclusive Islamic education approach in Pamekasan Regency. Social disparities particularly in access to education, economic opportunity, and the distribution of resources remain pressing structural challenges in the region. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research reveals that religious institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and local study groups (majelis taklim), have taken on extended social roles beyond their traditional religious functions. Through field observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, the study found that inclusive Islamic education is implemented through scholarships for the poor, skills training, character education based on social justice, and cross-sectoral collaboration. A model of inclusive Islamic education based on social transformation is formulated with five core pillars: equitable access, a social justice curriculum, participatory relationships, integration of economic empowerment, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The findings show that an Islamic education model grounded in transformative values can serve as an effective and sustainable approach to overcoming social inequality. In addition to improving the socio-economic standing of marginalized communities, this model fosters the integration of Islamic spirituality with context-based social praxis. This research offers theoretical contributions to the development of more adaptive Islamic education models and policy recommendations for faith-based social development grounded in justice and compassion.
