Wasathiyyah Islam: Peran Santri Sebagai Role ModelModerasi Beragama Di Tengah Krisis Kemanusiaan(Studi Kasus Di Pesantren Condong)

Abstrak

Wasathiyyah Islam, as a middle or moderate concept in Islam, places santri as the main agent to show a model of religious moderation in facing humanitarian crises. In this context, the study was conducted with the aim of revealing the significant role of santri as an example of religious moderation in the midst of humanitarian challenges. The study used a qualitative method with interviews as a method of collecting sources, observation, and analysis of the literature that had been collected. The results of the study showed that santri, with a strong foundation in religious education, have great potential to become pillars of religious moderation in society. They not only understand the essence of wasathiyyah Islam, but are also able to apply it in real contexts, especially in situations of humanitarian crisis. Santri, through active involvement in humanitarian activities, not only demonstrate tolerance between religious communities, but also become drivers in building peace and social justice. Their existence as role models of religious moderation has a positive impact on overcoming conflicts and humanitarian crises, creating space for interfaith dialogue, and absorbing humanitarian values ​​in real actions. This study concludes that strengthening the role of santri as agents of religious moderation can be an effective strategy in facing humanitarian crises. Therefore, this approach can be a view for Islamic educational institutions and the wider community to improve the understanding and implementation of Islamic wasathiyyah in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, as well as utilizing the potential of students as agents of positive change in overcoming complex humanitarian challenges
