الملخص

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi pembentukan nilai moderasi beragama di Pesantren Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata melalui pendekatan scaffolding, serta merumuskan model pendidikan karakter yang relevan dalam konteks pesantren. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai moderasi tidak hanya diajarkan secara teoritis, tetapi ditumbuhkan melalui ekosistem kehidupan kolektif yang sarat keteladanan dan pembiasaan. Temuan utama dalam studi ini adalah terbentuknya model scaffolder yang terdiri dari tiga lapisan utama: scaffolding pedagogis oleh ustaz, scaffolding simbolik oleh kiai, dan scaffolding sosial oleh sesama santri. Ketiganya berinteraksi membentuk lingkungan belajar yang reflektif, dialogis, dan praksis. Keteladanan kiai menjadi fondasi simbolik yang kuat, diikuti struktur pedagogis yang kritis namun terarah, serta interaksi sosial yang egaliter dalam membangun kesadaran moderat. Model ini dinilai kontekstual, adaptif terhadap tantangan zaman, serta potensial direplikasi dalam konteks pesantren lain. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan moderasi di pesantren tidak cukup jika hanya ditopang oleh kurikulum formal, tetapi harus hidup dalam budaya pesantren yang otentik, kolektif, dan berkelanjutan. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan strategi pendidikan karakter Islam berbasis komunitas dalam menghadapi tantangan intoleransi dan radikalisme.
